Los Angeles, CA – With the second installment of the University of MMA’s rebranded ‘Fight Night’ series in the books, founder/promoter Turi Altavilla and matchmaker Jay Tan are ready to release their ‘Dean’s List’ performance awards for University of MMA: Fight Night 2:

Fight of the Night: Brooksie Bayard (Fight-FiT) vs. Colbey Northcutt (Team Hoger)

Knockout of the Night: Jerell Cephas (Cephas Karate-Jiujitsu)

Submission of the Night: Nate Harris (10th Planet Santa Fe)

Freshman Honors: Derion Chapman (House of Champions)

The Dean’s List is sponsored by OTM Fight Shops and WSS, which have contributed $100 gift certificates to the winners.

“We’re proud of all of our award winners.  They put on great performances and these were the fighters people were really buzzing about after the show.  They seized the moment,” said Altavilla.

The Dean’s List is sponsored by OTM Fight Shops and WSS, which have contributed $100 gift certificates to the winners. In addition to the traditional Fight of the Night, Knockout of the Night, and Submission of the Night awards, Freshman Honors is a special category exclusive to fighters who are making their University of MMA debut (not necessarily an amateur debut). Freshman Honors is an award bestowed on the fighter with the best overall U of MMA debut that night, including fighting skills, personality, interview skills.

“This show has continued our streak of being more exciting than the last one, and it’s all due to the fighters. They deserve this recognition,” said Tan.
